The Thermometrics NTC inrush current limiting thermistor CL consists of a disk-type thermistor using uninsulated lead wires and is used for current limiting in switching power supplies. The main purpose of limiting inrush current is to prevent damage to components that are placed in series with the input of a DC/DC converter. Typically, inrush protection prevents the tripping of fuses or circuit breakers and avoids nuisance blowing of fuses.
